Worst shoes I have ever purchased. Trying out at home, they were fine, but after a full day of actual walking, they had bruised and cut into the top and sides of my feet. They are now sitting in the closet collecting dust. Wasted money!

Nice look. Nice feel. Just wish the sizing was more accurate.

Surprisingly little padding under the ball of the foot. You feel the impact of every footfall.

I have worn these for many years, deep into my second pair now. I get either strong compliments on the look, or deep revulsion, depending on where the people are from. In general these are extremely comfortable, and I have even run in them. They give great comfort to my difficult feet – large bunions and low arch. While I do not prefer them to some of my Clark’s shoes, because of the relatively stiff sole, they are still my go to shoe for the Winter and my year round d Friday and weekend shoe.

This is a replacement pair for ones I had for 10 years that finally wore out. The size (Length) is fine. These are a bit narrow but my hope is that they will lessen up with time. I get regular complements on the style.

Did not buy for looks, just comfort. Wearing these shoes everywhere, internationally and domestic. Such a comfortable forefoot.

Please don’t buy this if you need work shoes. I’m the manager of a fast paced restaurant, I brought this shoes exploring new options (besides sketchers), I noticed the first problem a couple of weeks ago, my team was washing the floor and my socks were completely soaked, the water gets inside thorough the sole. I was annoyed but I let that pass. The real problem happened today, those shoes are definitely not anti slip, I was waking fast through the kitchen when I slipped, my legs spread, I almost fall but in my attempt of not falling I hurt my thigh.
Pretty shoes but definitely NOT SAFE FOR WORK

I was interested in these shoes for one reason. After having too many pairs of cheap slip on “glue shoes” that delaminate and have the soles come adrift well before the shoe is due its rightful death (as well as a few more well known brands, unfortunately), these have a SEWN welt, which is all too rare these days, and should allow them to hold up long enough to die that glorious natural and comprehensive death.
These shoes are just fine in most respects, except for one glaring eccentricity that I have not seen anyone else mention. They have a ridiculously small and restrictive foot opening! No really. When I first tried them on, I literally could not get my foot IN THEM. You expect them to be snug when new, so you jam your toes in deep, and… I can’t even wedge my fingers in the back to slip them on?! Crazy!!! Yes, they have stretched a bit, and that’s why I waited a couple of months to revue them, but they are still quite tight over the instep, and perhaps far too tight to suit some people. I have even contemplated the rather extreme notion of snipping the elastic webbing to offer some relief, but have so far resisted that drastic measure. Now, in fairness, I must mention that I do seem to have inordinately high insteps compared to many people, and have had issues with other shoes in my lifetime, but those are usually boots where the shaft is necessarily more restrictive than a low cut loafer would ever be.
So, a decent shoe that should serve most people well, but…. beware, those of high instep or fat foot!

I have purchased these shoes 2x now, the first pair lasted about 6 months before falling apart, but i felt the she was comfortable and i would give them another try. The second pair didn’t even make it 4 months and is completely separated… Wont get me a 3rd time.

The size was different than I’d thought. Zappo suggested a 9.5 and I should have listened. Usually a 9 is big enough for me so I ordered a 9 only to find it a bit too snug. So I returned that pair for a 9.5 and they fit great. Kudos to Zappos for the easiest and best return policy in the known universe. I live in Michigan where we get a lot of snow and slush. These shoes are great when visiting someone’s home where you take your shoes off at the door. Easy off and easy back on when you leave while still looking presentable. This is my second pair of Ropers and when the first pair got a bit too worn to wear out I sought out another pair. BTW, the first pair is worn a bit at the back but still great for slipping on quickly to go out to get the mail, etc.

Zappos had suggested I get a 9.5. I should have listened. I got a 9 which is usually always big enough and it was a bit snug. I returned that pair for a 9.5 and the fit is good. (Zappos return policy and implementation of that policy are top notch) I love these shoes during Michigan winters. They’re not for tromping through snow but are excellent for time you visit someone’s home as you can easily slip them off and on again. They’re not dress shoes but look good enough for an outing. This is my second pair of these shoes and when the others wore out after several year I went right back to the same company and style.
